Venice-Still Crazy After All These Years

I am in my hometown, enjoying every second, every walk, every sight, all my friends, my family and the breathtaking beauty at every corner.

It is freezing cold, thick snow fell two days ago at the same time as a high tide. I froze my feet and my fingers when I went out to take pictures but I loved every minute.

Here are some pictures taken around town, just a little taste of this fragile but absolutely worth a visit city.

A little taste of Venetian life during the high tide and the snow, life goes on, deliveries have to be made.

Kids were hard at play, enjoying this rare happening.

Below is a picture of one of the oldest and still active squeri, name used for the places where they used to make gondolas.

Happy Holidays!

What beautiful sights. I've visited Venice in the Summer, but don't think I've ever seen pictures of it in the Winter.

What beautiful pictures of your hometown! I hope you are enjoying your visit and I can't wait to hear more about it. I feel like I've been MIA the last couple of weeks (only two more busy days and then I can relax!). I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :)

Gaia, la neve rende tutto piu' bello e magico.

Rosa, Venice is not too far from Switzerland, just few hours by train.

Simona, e' vero, la luce di Venezia e' meravigliosa, e i colori dei palazzi e dell'acqua sono perfetti insieme.

Pityenla cocina, thanks for stopping by, and cheers to you too.

Y, winter in Venice is cold, but the upside is that there are few tourists around so it is more livable. Plus all my friends are around and in a festive mood.

Deeba, thanks for stopping by!

Jill, I hope you are resting now and enjoying some much needed down time.

Lien, I hope you get to visit Venice too, it is beautiful, magic, full of history, worth a long visit.

Hi Laura

I found you through the DB Challenge --no I didn't make the gingerbread but I do have some on my blog today :-)

I love Venice! To me Venice is the most romantic place on earth. I have been lucky enough to have visited twice -- once when young, still in my teens, again when middle aged and with my husband and two semi adult children -- and I would love to go back at least one more time before my life is over.

I enjoyed looking at all your photoso much! Thank you

Sara
